Online Course on Municipal Cultural Planning

The Centre for Cultural Management at the University of Waterloo has several online course offerings for those seeking professional development in the cultural sector.

The newest course is on Municipal Cultural Planning. The outline states the following:

Course Description for Municipal Cultural Planning

Municipalities are beginning to adopt a new set of assumptions about local and regional cultural development called cultural planning. This approach features place-based planning that embraces a whole-system perspective on creativity and culture.

Vibrant, authentic places bubbling with lively cultural and entertainment options are magnets that attract and retain creative people. This creative workforce in turn generates wealth in an expanding knowledge economy.

This course was written by Dr. Greg Baeker.
