Doors Open Seaforth - September 25 & 26

You're invited to the Seaforth & District Doors Open this weekend.....

Seaforth & District is serving up a whole steamer trunk of historical stories on September 25th and 26th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, during its celebrationChanging Landscapes—Then & Now.

Under the auspices of the Ontario Heritage Trust, doors will be open and welcome mats out at eleven fascinating sites, some of which have not been seen by the public for many years, all within or near this historic community—and all free of charge. Pick-up your passports and heritage hunt entry forms at Huron East Town Hall on Main Street in Historic Downtown Seaforth & Murals in Metal 42422 Huron Rd (Hwy 8) west end of Seaforth for a chance to win great prizes.

Come visit......

  • - Artisans Market Place at the site location of Murals in Metal (Hwy 8 west end of Seaforth) watch for the big blue & white tent. Music by James Mintz & Jim Lee (Cinnamon Jim's), Refreshments, and lots and lots of art
  • - Cardno Music Hall....come meet Mrs. Alexander Cardno and listen to the sounds of a singer on the original opera hall stage
  • - Heritage tours with local Heritage Architect John Rutledge (10:30 am & 1:30 pm commencing at Town Hall)
  • - Van Egmond House.....be welcomed by Madame Van Egmond who will weave the story of this very special building and its spirits

  • - Sills Home Hardware with its fully equipped tinsmith shop located on the 2nd floor
  • - Seaforth Lawn Bowling Green - try your hand at this old cherished game
  • - Seaforth Golf Course..travel on a 8 seater people mover through this scenic property, host to a professional Canadian Golf Tour event
Some of these sites have not been open to the public for years........come one day or both, at no cost. Seaforth and its people welcome you to their community.....ENJOY!
