Sketch by R.Shipley
One of the main features of the discussions and presentations at the heritage Canada Conference in St. John's NL was the growing acceptance that heritage is about more than just pretty buildings. The significance of intangible heritage, things such as patterns of use, memories, customs and relationships is finally being recognized. Take this sketch: what it captures are the sculptures of the two famous Newfoundland and Labrador dogs, defiantly not architectural aspects of the provinces rich heritage.
